How to Find Happiness in Life

In life, happiness blooms when God is part of the journey. Solomon, who knew this well, tells us that without God, life feels hollow.

Solomon says, For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him? For to a person who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is futility and striving after wind.” (Ecclesiastes 2:25–26).

True satisfaction is within reach. However, we don’t have the power to give it to ourselves. Notice how the word “give” repeats three times in these verses.

Every good thing in life comes from God’s hand. He grants us wisdom, knowledge, and joy. But if we ignore God (the sinner), life becomes like chasing the wind…without meaning or significance.

Solomon’s point is clear: We can’t make ourselves happy. Happiness is a gift from God to those who follow Him.

Ultimately, even the efforts of the sinner serve the purposes of those whom God favors. Life finds purpose and meaning when God takes center stage.
